Water Fountains Galore

Shea and I explored Case today. Jeff had an errand to run, so we went down to campus and played while Jeff went about his business. While I always convince myself nothing can be as good as some of the places I've found to play with Shea in the past, I love exploring and trying to find new ones!

The problem with Cleveland is that there are a lot more people and a lot more traffic! Weird how a major metropolitan area is larger than upstate New York. Point being, we need to be more careful! Crossing the street isn't as cut and dry. We have to wait for more than simply one car to drive by. And, something that worries me greatly is that Shea, from time to time, has been known to get free. I know, I know, hard to believe such a well-behaved and honorable dog would do such a thing. It's rare, but has happened. One day, about a mile from my uncle's house, he got free. He went where he wanted to go, which luckily, was my uncle's backyard. The problem is that he doesn't stop and look both ways before he crosses the street. You can see where this arises fear in me now that we are in a much more high traffic area! So, elated I was, when Jeff showed us this perfect place set back from any major roads.
Lot's of room to throw and chase the ball. To make it even better, there is the gorgeous library off to one side to provide a little patch of shade when the Big Guy starts to overheat.

Beyond better, and upward of perfect, was when we found this fountain to satisfy Shea's need to swim. This is just to he right of the field. The perfect distance. You can't quite see it from the field (which is a good thing because it won't distract the ADHD dog), but no streets need to be crossed to get there (which is a good thing because sometimes Shea just takes off for water).
He seems quite content with this fountain. I am very happy about that. There are actually a number of fountains on Case's campus, but this seems like the best one for Shea. Another option was this, but I have my reasons for not letting Shea in there.

It is most definitely a phallic symbol, with water coming out the tip of it and dripping down the rounded sides. With Shea being a unisex name, his tendency to be scared of everything, and his habit of smelling the privacy's of every man who walks by him, I'd rather he not swim and lap up water in that fountain!
