Normally this is a process that everyone (adults at least) who will be living in the place is involved in. Not here. Not Jeff. He can't be involved because his seemingly endless patience, apparently has an end. That end comes when looking at houses. It is not his thing. My guidance from him was, "if you like it, get it." So, I sent out, with the mindset that I could not make a mistake in my hunt.
The place that we are currently, where Jeff has spent the past year, is not bad. It's on an okay street, only a few registered sex offenders, but go a block over and it's beautiful. Great for long runs with Shea, or with my iPhone. Our part of the house is downstairs, which we have concluded is much more convenient than upstairs. However, every time those poor people upstairs move, the house sounds like it may cave in and Shea barks.
The inside of the place is acceptable. I like the hardwood floors, and the beautiful fire place, even though seven months later, Jeff still has our Christmas stockings hanging:
They currently do not have gifts in them. The one thing that really bothers me, other than Shea's obsessive barking, may seem like a small thing. Please, listen to my reasoning. The bathtub must have been transported here from the 1700's. It's like stepping back into Colonial times when you need to get clean! Luckily there is a shower head added to this historic fixture in our bathroom.
Hahaha. Go ahead, laugh. I giggle a little every time I see it. At the same time it freaks me out a little. I think of Psycho and get mauled in this ageless bathtub. I think of all the now dead people who have bathed in the same tub I now shower in. I worry that Jeff or I will slip and bang our heads on the massively thick sides of the tub and die right there, in the dutch.
Other than those things, the shower curtain sometimes sticks to my leg. I don't like that. So, the search has begun, and will be over tomorrow afternoon, for I will be unable to see. Wherever it is we end up, I will be happy for two reasons: 1) I will be with Jeff, and 2) Lebron is staying in Cleveland, no doubt about it!
